groundskeeper / maintenance

Job Description

A Groundskeeper or maintenance worker is responsible for maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor space (including the Event Venue Space). 


Duties Include (but not limited to): 

  • Mowing lawns 
  • Raking / leaf blowing
  • Maintains green spaces by weeding, trimming, and pruning.
  • Removes unwanted or unhealthy plants, shrubs, and trees, as well as downed limbs.
  • Plant grass, shrubs, trees, and flowers.
  • Watering plants/ maintaining sprinkler & irrigation systems
  • Applies mulch, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides
  • Remove trash & other debris from outdoor areas/Emptying trash cans
  • Tree & limb debris on walking trails & golf cart paths
  • Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
  • Changing air filters and cleaning vents
  • Window Washing / Facility Glass doors
  • Monitoring the safety & cleanliness of exterior areas such as parking lots, driveways, Pond area, Pool area &  outdoor recreation spaces
  • Performing routine maintenance and making repairs as needed around the property & facility
  • Installs / maintains fences, gates, outdoor lighting
  • Keeps outdoor furniture & pergolas clean and in good repair.
  • Operates hand tools and power equipment, including mowers, leaf-blowers, tillers, backhoes, and tractors.
  • Basic Painting / Touchups 
  • Golf Cart Maintenance
  • Pond Maintenance
  • Farm animal maintenance

Minimal Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Familiarity with landscaping & power equipment
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods of time & on hot summer days
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation every day of the week
  • Not afraid of farm animals or getting dirty


Hours, Pay & Benefits

We operate on the property generally from 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends as needed. In the Summer time / Peak season it could be earlier mornings and later afternoons!


Part Time: Expect between 16-25 Hours, up to 40 hours weekly (depending on projects needed)


Hourly Wage:  Starting at $17.00/hr
